Fun march march fun yes
Media!!!MUSIC!!!
Tidal linka playlist of things I've been listening 2
Youtube link cause ik no one else uses TidalI have been OBSESSED with these this is lorelei tracks, I never thought an alt country track with heavy autotune would hit so hard but it does...and I think it works really well with the theme of the song.
I found out recently that bro is also in the band "water from your eyes" which makes me even sadder that I didn't see them when they came through...On a serious note these songs have some of my favorite lyrics I've heard in a while. I wouldn't call them complicated or overly deep but they mean something to me. The whole "im a loser" lyric trope has been done to death and usually comes off as cringe to me but with the backing of the rest of the song it makes the admition feel very real. The other lines add to that real awful feeling, how you feel someone losing focus so you "pretend not to notice" or when your in a very isolated and lonely position you just"tell yourself not to care". If you don't like the heavy autotune you should listen to the MJ Lenderman cover of the song. He does it pretty well in a more standard singer songwriter Kind of way.
Fun song
Included some of my favorite iceage songs since I saw them live this month, also included a couple garden and glixen tracks cuz i also saw them live. Last time I saw Iceage there was like 40?? people there for the show...It was back when lockdowns were still freshly unlocked. I understand most people were there for the Garden but I still don't understand why the show I went to last time was so sparse..I still think to this day that was the best live show I've ever been to.
Sometimes I do more deep dives into random releases by artists I love...so I checked out some random charli ep (its really just two tracks off of true romance and then just two remixes). That being said I think this remix of nuclear seasons is actually a vibe....
While on the topic of true romance you should check out this song...I'm not big on charlis early stuff but imo lock you up is one of her best songs. It used to be my favorite but I think Party 4 u currently holds that spot

I also bought this cool little zine from coup de main, They make cute little zines with bands sometimes so I got this one. It also unfolds into a full poster which is sick!!

MORE MEDIA!!! MOVIE BOOK MOVEI
I heard william dafoe recommend this movie on some youtube short and like a few days later at the library I saw it so I decided my fate had been sealed. I wasn't crazy about it but I can see why people love it. The last 15 minutes are pretty good. Reminded me of the lighthouse in some ways...

I also rewatched coraline.!?! which I was a little worried wouldn't hold up too well, but I was proven wrong. I honestly don't remember some of the scenes being as weird and depressing as they are but I was like 10 when I last watched it so..Wyborn a real one
I watched a few more movies but the last one I'll mention is Kiki's delivery service. Just a cute little Ghibli movie...I liked the dog...I also liked the painter in the woods

I've been very slowly watching adventure time since late last year? i think. I finished season 3 this month and am feeling a little lukewarm on it. Its got its highs and lows but I will persist either way
Finally finished the 2nd book of the dark tower series, was really nice to read some stephen king after a long time. Its been awhile since I read the first book but I caught up pretty quickly with what was going on. Now that I think about It I read the first book around january of last year...back then I used to (sometimes I still do tbh) read at shows inbetween bands to avoid just doomscrolling. Honestly its way to hard to try and focus on reading at shows tho...I also know its very dweebish to pull out a book at a show but im a dweeb so its what I do
I also read Solanin! I thought this was gonna be a lot more depressing than it actually was. Compared to Inio Asano's other series goodnight pun pun, this one was actually pretty sweet (I thought at least). It kinda reminded me of fujimotos look back. The art is very nice and the story is relatable, being in your early 20s and kinda surrenduring to work. It did make me reflect back on being in bands and playing music with friends and how fun that stuff can be... Nowadays I usually only work on songwriting or recording so I don't usually find myself just playing for fun and I think it is important to just play for fun at times. As like a reminder that "oh yeah I don't have to take this so seriously"...I feel like anyone who's been in bands would like Solanin, It's not reinventing the wheel but its good

Currently moving into april I am reading The art spirit, A book David lynch supposedly treated as his bible when he was attending art school. So far it's main focus is on painting but there are still some qualities to draw from it even if I don't paint often enough to use a lot of the info

EVENTS!!!!
Checked out a gaming cafe that was having a gaymer night, gaymes were played...I spent like half the time playing Double dash since that was a core memory from my childhood and I hadn't played it since I was like 10. I SUCKED. I remember being kinda decent at it back in the day but all that skill was lost. Still seeing those courses for the first time in so long was beautiful. .

Also played a little half life 2 and read through some gaming comics
I went to a Mayhem night to celebrate the new lady gaga album, It was oke I remember when I left almost being blown away by the wind... Honestly might be the worst wind I've seen here
Saw the Garden and Iceage, pretty crazy show...Iceage is the best band I've ever seen live I first saw them like 3 years ago and have been a fan ever since. THe garden also had a sick live show, lots of energy and a very nice crowd.
I really wish I got to the event below sooner for the fashion show but I blew it.

Saw glixen live for the second time and it was very sweet. Very jealous of their jazzmasters (or jaguars?idk..) My dream guitar for a minute.
ART AND OTHER THINGS!!!
I've been gathering random broken stuff for a junk necklace for awhile now and decided I had enough to finish it up
Worked a lot more on some patches, some went well and others... not so much

FINALLY started using grommets...eyelets...I thought they'd be a little more tricky to apply but they are super easy to attatch to clothing.
Only got around to baking on loaf of bread, I had tried this olive-onion bread recipe last february and it didn't come out exactly right so I decided to go with this one
https://www.theclevercarrot.com/2021/06/how-to-add-fillings-olive-sourdough-bread-recipe/It came out wayyyyy better, honestly one of my better rises. It was very puffy...
I also baked some vegan conchas that came out really well (◕‿◕✿) Its been like 15 years since I've had a concha (since they're usually not vegan). I always had very fond memories of going to a local mexican bakery where I grew up and getting them along with polvoron napolitano cookies. It was a very small dimly lit building but it was beautiful. They didn't taste like regular conchas (from my memory) but they were still good (─‿‿─)
https://dorastable.com/vegan-concha-recipe/#recipeabove all else...my sewing teacher did the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me (probably) and gave me a free sewing machine to use at home (▰˘◡˘▰) Though I don't have too much room to set up a designated space for it I'll make it work. I learned how to read sewing patterns back in february so hopefully i'll get fully accustomed to them in the next few months

WHAT I THRIFTED

I got these tactical pair of pants, I think the pockets and material are interesting.

My mother found this jacket and bought it for me, the material isn't very pleasant but I do like the shape and design on it. I think I'll paint a bleach design on the back of it mayb

Cute beanie (even though I think I look bad wearing hats) and some books

I thought the catfishing shirt was funny...

two hello kitty shirts...I thought the aot one was funny...

I rlly like this flannel esq crop top I got, I think it'll be cute to wear in the fall

Nice little belt find
